What Opus is

Plasma and radiofrequency, together

Opus Plasma (some people call it the Opus laser, though it isn’t a laser) delivers radiofrequency energy through a fine grid of tiny pins, creating microscopic points of plasma at the skin’s surface. That controlled micro-injury prompts the skin to renew itself and build new collagen, while the untouched skin between the points speeds healing.

The result over a series: smoother texture, softer fine lines, less visible acne scarring and more even tone, with recovery measured in days rather than the week or more that traditional ablative lasers often need.

Opus is Araceli’s signature treatment. Settings are adjusted for your skin and goals, from a lighter refresh to a deeper resurfacing pass.

What Opus treats

01

Fine lines and wrinkles

Especially around the eyes and mouth, where texture changes show first.

Rough or uneven texture and enlarged-looking pores.

04

Uneven tone

How much Opus Plasma costs

Opus is usually done as a series, often three treatments about four to six weeks apart, so pricing is typically quoted per treatment or per series. This month’s series special is shown on this page and on our specials page. Your plan and exact price are set at your free consultation.

Downtime, day by day

  • Day 0–1: warmth and redness, like a sunburn; a grid pattern of tiny marks may be visible.
  • Day 2–4: the skin feels rough or sandpapery and may look bronzed as the treated points flake.
  • Day 5–7: most of the texture sheds; makeup usually goes back on.
  • Weeks 4–12: collagen keeps building, so results continue to improve after the skin looks healed.

Deeper settings mean more downtime. Gentle cleansing, a bland moisturizer and strict sun protection are essential; aftercare matters as much as the treatment.

How painful is Opus?

Numbing cream is applied beforehand. Most people feel heat and a prickling sensation during the passes, and warmth for a few hours afterward.

Is Opus safe for medium and deeper skin tones?

Opus can be used across a range of skin types, but darker skin carries a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation with any resurfacing treatment. Settings, skin prep and sun protection are adjusted accordingly, and some people are better suited to gentler options like microneedling or a PRP facial. Araceli will assess your skin honestly at your consultation.

“Opus Plasma ruined my skin”: honest answers

You may have seen stories online. Like any resurfacing treatment, Opus can cause prolonged redness, pigment changes, breakouts or, rarely, scarring, especially with aggressive settings, the wrong candidate, or poor aftercare and sun exposure. That’s why your consultation covers your skin type, history (including cold sores, acne medications and recent tanning), and realistic downtime, and why we start conservatively. Results vary, and we’ll tell you if Opus isn’t right for you.

How much does an Opus Plasma treatment cost?

Opus is typically priced per treatment or as a series of three. This month’s series special is shown above; your exact plan and price are set at your free consultation.

How many Opus treatments will I need?

Many people do a series of three, about four to six weeks apart. Deeper concerns like acne scars may need more. Araceli will recommend a plan.

How painful is Opus Plasma?

With numbing cream, most people describe heat and prickling during treatment and warmth for a few hours after.

What’s the downtime, day by day?

Redness on day 0–1, rough, bronzed texture on days 2–4, most flaking done by day 5–7. Deeper settings mean more downtime.

How long do Opus Plasma results last?

Collagen remodeling continues for months, and results can last a long time with sun protection and good skincare, though aging continues. Many people do maintenance treatments. Results vary.

Is Opus Plasma better than microneedling?

Not better for everyone: Opus generally resurfaces more strongly with more downtime; microneedling is gentler. Compare them.

Opus Plasma vs Morpheus8: what’s the difference?

Opus works mainly at the surface with plasma for resurfacing; Morpheus8 uses radiofrequency microneedling to heat deeper layers. We offer Opus; the comparison guide explains both fairly.

Is Opus safe for medium and deeper skin tones?

It can be, with careful settings and skin prep, but the risk of pigment changes is higher. Araceli will assess your skin and may suggest gentler alternatives.
