Your provider: Araceli Huerta, APRN, MSN, FNP-CUpdated October 20, 2026
Consultation first
Araceli examines the area, asks what was injected and when, and goes through your health history and allergies. Sometimes the right plan is to dissolve part of the filler, not all of it; sometimes a small adjustment with no dissolving at all is enough. You’ll know the plan and the price before anything is done.
What to expect: swelling, and maybe more than one visit
- Treatment: a few small injections into the filler. Quick, with a brief sting.
- Swelling: expect swelling and possibly some bruising for a day or two; the area can look bigger before it looks smaller.
- Timing: many people see a change within a day or two, but swelling can hide it at first.
- More than one visit: stubborn or older filler can take more than one session, a couple of weeks apart. Araceli doses conservatively rather than dissolving everything at once.
Allergy and safety
Hyaluronidase can cause an allergic reaction. Most reactions are local (redness, itching, swelling), but serious reactions are possible, so tell Araceli about any allergies, especially to bee or wasp stings. She may do a small test first, and you’ll stay for a short while after treatment.
Can I get filler again afterward?
Usually, once things have fully settled; Araceli will tell you how long to wait before any new lip filler or dermal filler, and whether a lighter plan makes more sense.
When it’s urgent: call or go to the ER
Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel (vascular occlusion). This is an emergency. Warning signs during or after filler from anywhere include: sudden or severe pain out of proportion to the treatment; skin that turns white, dusky, blue-gray or blotchy; skin that feels cool; and, around the eyes or nose, any change in vision. Call the injector who treated you right away (if that was Dream, call (559) 338-5503). If you can’t reach them immediately, or you have any vision change, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911. Don’t wait for an appointment or book online.
