Your provider: Araceli Huerta, APRN, MSN, FNP-CUpdated October 20, 2026
What they have in common
Both are botulinum toxin type A, both relax the muscles that cause expression lines, and both are FDA-approved for frown lines (the 11s) at the same 20-unit dose. Many patients can’t tell them apart once settled.
How they differ
- Approvals: the Botox brand’s cosmetic approvals cover frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines and platysma bands; Jeuveau’s approval covers frown lines. Other areas are off-label for Jeuveau and are decided by your provider.
- Who makes them: Botox is made by Allergan Aesthetics; Jeuveau is marketed by Evolus and manufactured in South Korea.
- Price: Jeuveau is often priced slightly lower per unit than Botox, though it varies by practice.
Which works faster, and which lasts longer?
Onset is similar, typically a few days, with some people noticing Jeuveau a little sooner. Both typically last around three to four months. Individual results vary more between people than between the two products.
What about Dysport?
Dysport is another botulinum toxin with different unit dosing (more units are used for the same area), so per-unit prices aren’t directly comparable to Jeuveau or Botox.
How to choose
At Dream, Araceli uses Jeuveau; the Botox brand isn’t offered here. If you’ve had Botox elsewhere, tell her what worked for you: for frown lines the two are dosed the same, so switching is usually straightforward. Pricing details: how neurotoxin pricing works.
